HUSH, Walter William Sr.
age 72 passed away Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was born January 30, 1932 in Marion, Ohio and was a resident of Kettering for the last 41 years. A loving husband and a wonderful father, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jean M. Hush; and his children, Walter Wm. Hush, Jr., Brian Patton, David Hush, Rowena Rutherford, Joyce Sherman, Mary Bailey; and 15 grandchildren. Walter was a veteran of the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. He was a retired firefighter with a combined 56 years of volunteer and professional service in the military (DESC) and the city of Kettering. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Miamisburg Ward. He was a member of the Millennium Masonic Lodge #779, Past Master of Riverview Lodge in 1993-1994, and a member of the AASR, Valley of Dayton. A life long sportsman, he was a member of the Shiloh Sportsmens Club and a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. The family would like to thank Hematology and Oncology of Dayton, Inc. (South) and Hospice of Dayton for their compassion and outstanding care. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Marion, OH.
