W. Scott Smith

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, W. Scott Smith, loving husband, father, stepfather, papaw, great-grandpa, and great-great-grandpa passed away at the age of 82. Scott was born on May 4, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his Mathematics and Music Degrees from Ohio State University where he was also a double letterman athlete in gymnastics and diving. Scott loved OSU. Half of his closet was filled with OSU gear. Many in the Beavercreek area had "Mr. Smith" in school. He was a music teacher in the Beavercreek District for 30 years. And a well-known real estate agent for 40 years.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Earl F. Sr, mother, Helen E. (Wasko) Smith, and his sister,Roberta Moody. He is survived by his wife Jan (Britt), brother Earl (Judy) Smith, children Karri Schwarzenberg, Patrick (Dani) Smith, Terry (Arliene) Britt, Howard Britt, Tina (Don) White. His grandchildren Spence Schwarzenbergr, Sophia Schwarzenberg, Luke (Mary) Britt, Carly Britt, Spencer Britt, Charlotte Britt, Shana (Justin) Scafone, Arika (Josh) Payne, Srg. Lindsey (Roy) Tucker, Bengemin White. Great Grandchildren Justin, Alana, Sophia, Vincent, Gracie, Carson, Jackson, Chloe, Colton (Jessica), Zac, and Trinity. Great-Great-Grandson Raylan. And several nieces, and nephews.

Scott loved attending events, helping the Veterans and sharing stories and meals at the Beavercreek American Legion Post 763. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to the Post, in his memory, to 3200 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45431.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Scott will be laid to rest following the services at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek,OH.
