Powell, Virginia A., age 84, of Miamisburg and Sycamore Glen Retirement Community, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2007. Virginia, along with her husband, were very successful and creative, self taught upholsterers. Virginia was also a very accomplished seamstress, crotchetier and baker. She was affectionetly known as "Roadrunner" or "Speedy" because of her love of walking. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Merl (Patricia) Powell of Waynesville; granddaughter: Jennette (Donald) Heikes of Kettering; grandson: David (Elizabeth) Powell of Camden; great granddaughter: Jacklyn Heikes; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Herman R. Powell; two infant sons: Grover & Lee Powell; four brothers: Walter, William, Grover & James Noe; and her sister: Hazel Noe.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P..M. on Friday, December 7 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Centerville with Brother C.W. DePoyster officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Habitat for Humanity or First Baptist Church of Lewisburg, envelopes will be provided.
