Virginia O'Reilly

Virginia "Pat" O'Reilly, Pat made her transition on February 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husbands Bill Russell and Charles O'Reilly, her parents and one brother and four sisters.

She is survived by her children Ted Russell (Gloria) Freeport, Grand Bahamas, Cathy Russell Gordon (Sam) of Brookville, Ohio, Grandson Zachary Russell (Nicole) Boca Raton, FL. Granddaughter Molly Russell Cincinnati, Ohio. Special bonus family Michael O'Reilly (Pam) and Chuck O'Reilly of TN. And Granddaughter Kelly O'Reilly and great grandson Jordan Wilson along with many nieces and nephews.

Pat was a Cadet Nurse and graduated from Miami Valley Hospital. Her passion was her family, friends and her love for nursing and always learning. She was a founding member of Kettering Medical Center and opened the first Coronary Care Unit at Kettering where she remained Head nurse for 20 + years. She was always a dedicated nurse caring for others and remained a teacher and caretaker after retirement. Her home was a sanctuary for many.

She loved life and found humor in almost everything. She loved her family and friends and found great joy in them ALL. When things went wrong, her response was "Everything is in Divine Order."

Special thanks to Trish Carpenter and Kathy Gunckle for their loving kindness in taking care of her over the last year along with Amy from Hospice and several others. Jana Green , Dr. Samuel Laneve, Virginia & Bob Lotz, Aimee Calabrese , Danny Stine , Adrian Hull , Lynn Skowronski, Marie Goerges , Pam Cox that were so kind in their friendship to her and many more of her loyal friends there are too many to name them all.

If desired In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Vincent homeless shelter, Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice.

In remembrance, hug someone, say I love you and remember you grow old because you stop laughing. Heart prints are left with all of the above.

The family will receive friends on Monday March 3, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The memorial service will follow at 7 pm. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11 am at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton, OH.
