Virginia T."Ginny" Collopy (Pridmore), age 90, of Centerville, peacefully entered the arms of our Lord, Friday, July 1, 2011 in the presence of her daughters.
She was born August 19, 1920 in Steens, Mississippi to the late Walter & Margaret Pridmore.
Ginny worked for Penn Station as a switchboard operator. She married Jack at Our Lady of Grace Church in Hoboken, NJ. They made their home in Dayton Ohio. They wintered in Sarasota, FL. for the past 25 years. Ginny accomplished many things in her life, she founded the Women's Auxiliary Knights of Columbus, president of the Dominican Retreat House, Girl Scout Leader, and partnered with her husband in his many business endeavors.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack Collopy; daughters, Kathy Collopy, Mary (Ron) Barber, both of Sarasota, FL., Dottie (Dan) Kick, of Tolland, CT., Denise (Wayne) Christie, of Centerville, OH.; grandson, Ron Barber; granddaughters, Denise Renee Klopf, Stacey McIntire, Tami, Michelle, and Heather Kick, Marla, Andrea, and Theresa Christie; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Yates; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 5-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
