Virgil Williams, age 88 of Fairborn, OH passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 11, 1931 in Salyersville, Kentucky to George and Ellen (Howard) Williams. Virgil married Bertha (Wright) Williams on May 22, 1952 in West Liberty, KY.
Virgil worked for Sears Fence Installation as a fence installer for 35 years and retired in 1987. He collected baseball caps, coins, knives and hunting guns. Virgil liked to hunt and going to flea markets. He raised Bantam chickens, pigeons and shared the chicken eggs with family and friends. Virgil loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Virgil is survived by a daughter, Donna J. Schuler; a son, Larry D. Williams; four grandchildren, Tonya (Josh) Sewell, Steven C. Schuler II, Kristen (Keeter) Brown and Daniel Williams; four great grandchildren, Katelyn Mitchell-Schuler, Alexander Sewell, Kennedy Brown and Korryne Brown; special friend, Katherine Ball and her family; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Bertha; a son, Danny Ray Williams; six brothers, Charlie, Bill, Edgar, Arlie, Herman, and Elmer Williams; and three sisters, Zulie Wright, Lula Wright and Peachy Williams.
The family would like to thank the staff of Crossroads Hospice for their loving care of Virgil and Dr. Darcy Brown for her care of Virgil over the past few years.
A visitation will be June 7, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the services at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
