Virgil W. Marcum

Marcum, Virgil William, age 92, of Moraine, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Virgil was born March 15, 1920 in Vincent, Kentucky to the late Frank & Lennie (Manious) Marcum. Virgil retired from General Motors/Frigidaire with over 30 years of service and was a active member and usher at Moraine Heights Baptist Church. He was a M/Sgt in the United States Army Air Corps proudly serving during WWII and served his country for four years.

Virgil is survived by his loving wife of over 67 years: Pearl (Tye) Marcum; grandchildren: Lori Clemence, Jami Johnson, Marni Greenwald & Dennis Anderson; foster son: Keith Anderson; siblings: Emma Bond, Robert (Elva) Marcum, Bernice (Marvin) Smith, James (Peggy) Marcum; aunt: Reba Marcum; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday (TODAY) June 29, 2012 at Moraine Heights Baptist Church, 5661 Munger Road, Miami Township, Ohio 45459 with Pastor Terrill Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday (TODAY) from 9:00 A.M. until time of services. Interment will take place at 6:00 P.M. on Friday (TODAY) at Brandenburg Cemetery in Booneville, Kentucky. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel.
