Virgil Roscoe Gregg, age 81 of Dayton, passed away January 4, 2019. He was born February 15, 1937 in La Follette, TN to the late Maynard and Bessie Gregg. In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Gregg; and 8 brothers and sisters.
Virgil is survived by his sons: Glenn (Leslie) Gregg and Jimmy (Jackie) Gregg; grandchildren: Nathanael (Kelly Cook) Gregg, Amber (Scott Ewald) Little, Kody Gregg, Jennifer (Landen) Abdulhai and Cheyenne Gregg; great-grandchildren: Chloe Burchette and Lily Marshall; sister, Martha (Alonzo) Walden; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Virgil was a Machine Repairman for most of his life. He was a former employee with G.H.R. Foundry for 14 years, Advance Foundry for 10 years, and retired after 14 years of service from Tip Top Canning.
Virgil was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed archery and gardening, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made in Virgil's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
