Virgil "Andy" Anderson

January 10, 1948 — July 25, 2024

New Carlisle, Ohio

Virgil "Andy" Anderson, beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, passed away peacefully at his home in New Carlisle, Ohio on July 25, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 10, 1948, in Princeton, Indiana, Andy lived a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and generosity.

Andy's early years were marked by his academic achievements at Tecumseh High School where he graduated as part of the Class of 1966. His passion for sports led him to play basketball and football while also serving as a lifeguard at Crystal Lake. It was evident from a young age that Andy possessed a natural charm and an ability to connect with everyone he met.

Following high school, Andy proudly served in the U.S. Navy and bravely undertook multiple tours in Vietnam. His dedication to his country was just one example of his unwavering commitment to helping others.

In his professional life, Andy wore many hats with pride. From working for Perfa-Lawn to owning American Lawn Consultants, Anderson Auto and Trailer Exchange, and Panther Marine, Andy's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly in everything he pursued. A skilled salesman known for never meeting a stranger, Andy's infectious smile and kind heart left an indelible mark on all those he encountered.

Beyond his career achievements, Andy found joy in various hobbies and interests. An avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, jet-skiing, restoring classic cars, and drag racing. Known as a "wheeler-dealer," Andy's passion for acquiring new things was matched only by his zest for life.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents:  Arthur and Esther Anderson, and his son, Lance Anderson.

Above all else, Andy cherished his family. He was extremely family-oriented and took great pride in being a devoted partner, a loving father and grandfather.  He is survived by his fiance, D'Ann Crabtree; children: Kim Fackler (Dan), Travis Anderson (Pam), Charlene Stewart (James Terry), and Andrea Meyer (Jason); grandchildren: Kristina Holt (Scott), Kylie Anderson, Landon Monroe, Shana Stewart, Annabella Pollock, Lance Pollock, Lynzee Meyer, Emersyn Meyer, Presley Meyer; great-grandchildren Brentley, Aurora with one on the way Karter; as well as many other cherished family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory through their shared love.
