Violet Messer, age 95, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2023. She was born August 8, 1927 to the late Tollie and Mae Wright. In addition to her parents and siblings, Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; and her daughters: Linda Mae Snyder and Patty Jane Shoupp.
Violet is survived by her daughters: Barbara Ann (John) Martin and Betty Jean (Maurice) White; grandchildren: Sue Lynn Snyder Adams, Robert Franklin Snyder, Maurice Patrick (Rachel) White III, Kenneth Michael White, and James Lee (Mariela) Shoupp; great grandchildren: Leslie Marie (Phillip) Jones, Randall Neil (Autumn) Adams Jr, Robert Blake (Taylor) Adams, Taylor Mae (Josh) Brewer, Lindsay Stika, Trenton Shoupp, Estella Shoupp, JoAnna Stafford, and Isabella White; great great grandchildren: Elora Adams, Mya Brewer, Alexis Jones and Jade Brewer; and many other family and friends.
Violet was devoted to her family, her entire life was one of hard work. She raised vegetable gardens and took care of the farm animals to make sure her girls needs were met. Later she worked out of the home, sometimes cleaning houses, other times working in factories. As the grandchildren and great grand children were born she was delighted. She enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Reds, Braves, and Cubs.
After Harvey passed she moved Arizona where she enjoyed the desert and the mountains. For health reasons, Violet moved back to Ohio where she took pride in making sure her apartment was well taken care of on her own, even from her wheelchair.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills cemetery on Saturday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
