NORTHERN, Viola (Dixon), age 88 passed away June 5, 2011 at Oak Creek Terrace.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jett Northern; daughters, Debra L. Northern and Anna M. Northern; sons, Lewis Northern and Charles Jett Northern, JR.; and by 11 brothers and sisters.
Viola is survived by children, Mary E. (David) Mitchell of Kettering, Phyllis (David, deceased) Jenkins of Xenia, and Robert (Joyce) Northern of Kettering; brother, Russell (Alene) Dixon of Bardstown, KY; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was a member of Evangel Church of God for 31 years and retired from Kettering Medical Center after 15 years of service. Viola was an avid gardener. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at Evangel Church of God, 132 N. Smithville Rd., Dayton. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and also one hour prior to the funeral service on June 9. Interment at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Evangel Church of God.
