Vina Deacon

Vina Deacon, born May 15, 1930, went home to heaven on July 25, 2015. She was one of 16 children born to Clifton and Edna Banks.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara; infant son, Donald; sisters: Georgia Runner, Viola Sims, Dora Brelsford, and Ann Jones; brothers: James Banks and Clifton Banks Jr.; and 4 young siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Glenn; daughter, Glenna Terry (Rob); granddaughter, Emily See (Sammy); grandson, Kevin Terry; 2 great-grandchildren: Daniel and Jacob See; sister, Mable Neal; and brothers: Russell, Ray, Carl, and Walter Banks.
She was briefly employed by Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and The Sunshine Biscuit Co. in Dayton, Ohio, but being a devoted wife, homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother brought her the greatest joy. Upon Glenn's retirement, they moved to Florida in 1977. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne in Melbourne, FL until she fell ill in December 2014.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. in Kettering, OH. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Health First, 1900 Dairy Rd., Melbourne, Florida 32904.
