Victoria L. Saylor

April 7, 1956 — June 29, 2023

Victoria "Vicki" Lynn Saylor was a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly and unexpectedly on June 29th, 2023.

Vicki was born to Robert Rutherford and Nora Rutherford on April 7th, 1956. She attended and graduated Meadowdale high school where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Gary L. Saylor. After graduating from high school, they started life together by adopting their only son, Douglas A. Saylor.

Vicki loved life. Vicki was one heck of an artist. She enjoyed painting, scrapbooking and she enjoyed arts and crafts, which was an activity she enjoyed throughout her life. She was an avid gardener, a trait that was passed down from her mother; she loved drag racing, a past time which she shared with her husband; an adventurous cook and a friend to all animals. Vicki was a jack of all trades. She found a way to balance having a full-time career as a Pharmacist Technician for most of her life, but also found time to manage her family, enjoy her hobbies, enjoy her pets, and even catch a few hours of sleep at night.

Vicki is loved by many, and she will be missed. The world is a little less bright today without her in it.

At Vicki's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association.

"I needed the quiet so He drew me aside.
Into the shadows where we could confide.
Away from the bustle where all the day long
I hurried and worried when active and strong.
I needed the quiet tho at first I rebelled
But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld
And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things
Tho weakened in body, my spirit took wings
To heights n'er dreamed of when active and gay
He loved me so greatly he drew me away.
I needed quiet. No prison my bed,
But a beautiful valley of blessings instead -
A place to grow richer in Jesus to hide.
I needed the quiet so He drew me aside."
