Vicki Lee Van Meter, 72 of Dayton,Ohio unexpectedly passed away on January 28, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on December 8, 1950, in Richmond, Indiana to Russell Van Meter and Barbara Garrison.
She is preceded in death by Stepfather Willie Garrison, Father Russell Van Meter and Brother Michael Van Meter.
Vicki is survived by Her Mother Barbara Garrison, Sisters Dr.Yvonne Van Meter and Pamela Correll, Her children, Nicole Van Meter, LaDawn Manning and Terrance Manning (Edward Manning); Her grandchildren, DeAsia, Allante Sr., Danyell, Alexis, and Tyger; Her great-grandchildren Dawson, Kendall, Allante Jr., Evionne, Allanah, Kannon; Her nieces and nephews Latisha Slaughter (Danesha (Da'Yona,Dariah, Domani), Davonte (Jay), and Darius), Mark Van Meter (Monae, Markus, Ronald , Ryan and Madison), Michael VanMeter and Chantelle Mitchell. Vicki is also survived by numerous family and friends.
She was a devoted Daughter, Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother. Vicki gave her life to Christ at an early age. After moving to Dayton, Ohio by the way of Richmond, Indiana; She attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She Retired from General Motors, from then on, she enjoyed family especially the children. Vicki never met a child she didn't love and protect. These days you would catch Vicki either with her grandkids, great grandkids, or her best sister-friend Pamela (thick as thieves). The love she poured into her children is irreplaceable. She was funny, caring, protective, nurturing, and quick with her words (if you know you know). Vicki will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family hopes those who would like to honor her will find a quiet time to remember who she was in your life. In lieu of a public funeral service, individual families are encouraged to have their own private memorial.
