Vernon (Burn) Thomas, died November 26, 2017. Born in Southeastern Kentucky on January 30, 1926 and preceded in death by wife, Lillian and numerous siblings. Survived by sister, Myrtle Spilker; loving companion, Anna Hale; many nieces and nephews including, Sue (Susie) and Larry Leingang, Linda (Jerry) Voll, Pat (Eddie) Wakeham, Peggy (Dave) Tefft, Mike Bates, Kevin (Ollie) Bates; and his many friends at Brookdale Kettering, especially Theresa Dollahite who helped him immeasurably and became a trusted friend. Burn served in the Navy in both WWII and Korea and retired from GM where he worked as an inspector. He always enjoyed life to the fullest-hunting, fishing and traveling, even after suffering a major stroke in 1986. Burn loved children and was never without a bag of candy for his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews - and even this past Halloween for their children!! We love and miss you, uncle Burn! A celebration of Burn's life will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Brookdale Kettering, 280 Walden Way. Burial with full military honors at Calvary Cemetery December 22 at 11am.
