HOEHNE, Vernon Oliver "Vern", age 87, of Xenia and formerly of Hillsboro and Beavercreek, OH, died peacefully Monday morning December 3, 2012 at his home. He was born June 23, 1925, in Des Peres, MO, the son of the late Wilhelm and Leona (Hoffman) Hoehne. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beavercreek and formerly a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Vern served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked as an aeronautical engineer and branch chief at WPAFB.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Mae Hoehne on April 6, 2002, whom he had married on March 9, 1946 in Des Peres, MO. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Janis A. and Stephen Wright, of Dayton, L. Diane and Steven Thorne, of Beavercreek; son and daughter-in-law, Scott A. and Julie Hoehne, of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Anne Hoehne, of Columbus; all of their respective families and many friends. He was also preceded in death by one son, Dale J. Hoehne on June 18, 2001.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Stephen Kimm officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at High Top Cemetery in Hillsboro.
