Vernadele Eva Lucas

Vernadele Eva "Dele" Lucas, 92, of Dayton, passed away on June 30, 2019.
She was born to the late Vernon and Leona Segui.
Dele retired as a Stenographer for Dayton Tire & Rubber.
On October 12, 1957, she married James Francis "Jim" Lucas.
Dele was an avid member of St. Anthony Catholic Church for over 60 years, joining the community with prayer groups at her home.
Her favorite hobby was making crafts, especially muslin dolls which she sold and gifted to her family.
Dele is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Lucas; sister, Helen Godfrey; and numerous beloved relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her unborn daughter, Charlotte Elaine Lucas; 2 brothers; 4 sisters and their spouses; 3 nephews; 1 great niece and 1 great nephew.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 7, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, 45439).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019, 10:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church (830 Bowen St, Dayton, 45410).
Interment immediately after at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations in Dele's memory can be made to Miami Valley Food Bank or St. Anthony Catholic Church.
