Verna Lee Ward, age 86, long time resident of San Bernardino, California, Sonora, Mexico, and Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away April 15, 2023. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on August 21, 1936 to the late Clifford and Eleva Starrett.
Verna is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Virgil "Skipper"; brother, Dale; and her beloved fur babies.
Verna is survived by daughter, Wendy Myers; son-in-law, Daniel; daughter, Debra Terry; sister, Lou; brother, Tom; seven grandkids and three great-grandchildren.
Verna was a homemaker for most of her life where she enjoyed traveling, long drives, shopping and spending time at the beach and lake. She was a lighthearted spirit who enjoyed everyone around her. Verna also had a great sense of humor, a joy to everyone. She deeply loved her family, as well as her fire department family, her Mexico family, and her Idaho family throughout her life.
