Verna Powell

POWELL, Verna, age 79 passed away Monday, March 10, 2003 at Kettering Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by parents Sam and Maggie Kelley; sisters Cleo Kelley, Ruth Helen Carter, and Mary Eliza Neely; brothers Donald, Sam, Ed, and James William. She is survived by Mitchell, her loving husband of 61 years; daughters Brenda and husband Jim Weller and Donna Powell; brothers Jack and Curtis Kelley; and a host of other relatives and friends. Verna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miamisburg and former member of Far Hills Baptist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother and friend and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday with a 1 hour prior visitaiton at the First Baptist Church of Miamisburg 323 North Eleventh Street. Family will also receive friends from 5-8 pm Thursday at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd.Pastor Stephen Spurgin officiating. Interment at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
