Verna M. Mahaney

Mahaney, Verna M. (Thompson), 77, of Moraine, OH passed away August 14, 2018.

She was born June 16, 1941 in Providence, RI, as one of 12 children to the late Joseph and Esther (Robinson) Naylor. She was a former member of the American Legion Post 598 and VFW Post 9927. Verna enjoyed spending time with her family and spending time outdoors. She was also an avid sports fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Thompson II, and her spouse, Ralph Mahaney along with 3 brothers, John, David and Fred, and 3 sisters, Esther, Betty and Barbara. Verna is survived by her daughters, Donna Sharkey, Cheryl (Ken) Kindler, Rhonda (Chris) Wamsley; 6 grandchildren, Kyle (Beth) Sharkey, Derek (Lindsay) Sharkey, Katie Sharkey, Rachel Kindler, Abigail Kindler, Sydney Wamsley; and 1 great-grandson, Sage Sharkey. She is also survived by her 2 brothers, Bernard and Richard; 3 sisters, Mary, Ann and Margaret, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 3:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm at Newcomer South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Verna's memory.
