Verene L. Ward

WARD, Verene L. "Wardy" age 72 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Julia Lenehan. She is survived by Ira C. Ward , her loving husband of almost 50 years, her children James and wife Cathy Ward, Annette and husband Douglas Combs and Steven Ward; grandchildren Brittney, Sierra, Ryan and Ashley; sister Laura and husband Martin Aldridge; best friend Marilyn Sartain; and a host of other relatives and friends. Verene retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving the Dayton area for over 50 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton for all their love and care. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd., with Rev. Peter Courlas Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. In memory of Verene, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
