Verdie J. Merritt

MERRITT, Verdie Jay "Junior"., age 75, of New Carlisle, passed away May 3, 2013. He was born May 20, 1937 in Cookeville, TN. Junior retired from General Motors, was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the Eagles Lodge. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith Merritt; children, Jeff (Regina) Merritt and Jay (Colleen) Merritt; 4 grandchildren, Emily, Tyler, Jessica and Jay D.; sister, Sammie (Denver) Howard; and numerous other family and friends. Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Verdie J. Merritt Sr. and Lela (Ford) Merritt. Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Junior was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family and friends
