Vera "Irene" Bowen

BOWEN, Vera "Irene" age 86, of Oakwood, formerly of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at home with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by Jacob, her husband of 56 years; son, Phillip; her parents; 2 brothers, and 1 sister. She is survived by her son, Randy; long-term care giver, Billy Stamper; sisters, Vivian Hounshell, and Verda (Bill) Smith; and many nephews, nieces, and dear friends. Special thanks to Jerry and Rosie for their faithful visits, and to the hospice nurses, Carrie, Missy, and Kim. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, May 8, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Services will be 1 pm Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the funeral home with Revs. Tim Hamilton and Dale Gibbons officiating. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
