Vera Louise Hill, age 90 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021. She was born January 12, 1931 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Carl and Louise Shaffer.
Vera was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. During their younger years, she and Wally enjoyed bowling in a league, traveling and lived in Florida for over 15 years. She also enjoyed spending time and traveling with her best friends, Marge and JC. Vera will be remembered for her sweet, loving, soft-spoken manner and will be missed by all of her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; son, Gary Hill; and brother, Roland Shaffer.
Vera will be missed by her loving children, Connie (Tom) Fay, Gregory Hill, Carol (Dave) Pawlowski and Lori Cartright; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Chandler, Heather Lavielle, William Smith, Cherie Martin, Casey Caldwell, Sean Smith, Marc Hill, Shannon Thomas, David Cartright, Angela Berry, Brandy Rock; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11890 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City, Ohio. Vera's family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice of Dayton for the care given to her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vera's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
