Cunningham, Vera A. (Holden) Age 91, of Beavercreek, OH, was reunited in Heaven with her handsome groom of almost 67 years on July 9, 2012. He, Thomas F. Cunningham, preceded her in this journey on June 26, 2010. She is survived by her children, Neil Cunningham and his wife Diane of Atlanta, GA, and Joan (Cunningham) Reynolds and her husband Dick Reynolds of Beavercreek; grandson Paul Cunningham; and granddaughters Brittany and Tori Reynolds. "Nana-Banana" (lovingly referred to by her granddaughters) was born in Lawrence, MA on April 24, 1921.
She devoted her life to her beloved husband, her children and her grandchildren. She was the rock for her family while Tom (retired MCPO, USN) served in the U.S Navy for 30 years. Moving from Manchester, NH to Beavercreek, OH in 1988 to be closer to their grandchildren, she and Tom became "plank holder" residents of Fairwood Village on North Fairfield Road. They were active and well-respected supporters of the Fairwood community and its many activities, which were such an important part of their lives. She spent the last two years living with her daughter Joan and son-in-law Dick, where she was able to spend precious time with family; memories they will always cherish.
A private family celebration of life will be held at St. Luke's Parish at 10:00 a.m. on July 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley, 922 West Riverview Avenue, Dayton, OH 45402 (www.cssmv.org/donate.htm).
