Velma Rae Seals

Velma Rae Seals, age 90, of Tipp City, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1932 to the late George and Donna Engle.

In her 90 years of life, she was quick-witted, compassionate and strong-willed. She supported family members in their time of need with a loving heart all of her life. She enjoyed sitting in the sun on the porch and watching the birds. She also liked to sing karaoke. You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she lived.

In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by husbands, Douglas Clase and Ben Seals; her daughter, Diana Blackford; her brothers: George Engle Jr., John Engle, Butch Engle, Orville Engle, and Paul Engle; her sisters: Louella Bowers, Kate Clingman, June Ertle, and Thelma Marshall.

She will be remembered by her daughter, Donna Jones; grandchildren: Steve (Shana) Jones, Leslie (Nick) Petro, Brittany (Jessica) Blackford, Brooke Blackford, and Jamee (Adam) Blackford; numerous much-loved great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Wednesday, 1/18/2023 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 5:30pm. Velma will be laid to rest at Willow View Cemetery at a later date.
