Velma D Hodson

March 8, 1925 — March 4, 2015

Velma Dinsmore Hodson, born 03/08/1925, Velma almost made it to her 90th birthday. She passed away 03/04/2015. Velma was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jack Dinsmore and Ada (Gallagher) Dinsmore; her siblings Maude Snyder, Mildred Horner and Ralph Dinsmore; in addition to her first husband, Robert T. Henry and second husband William Johns. She is survived by her daughter Judy Lesley (Larry) Reed; grandchildren Lisa Marie Keller and John Robert Lesley; great-grandchildren Ashley Million, Kenny (Chelsea), Michael (Rebecca), Taylor and Jacob Keller; great great-grandchildren Landen, Rain, Marques, Briana, Robert and Emmett. She worked in civil service at WPAFB for over 20 years, retirement do to medical issues. Velma moved to Florida where she lived for 34 years and enjoyed the sun, warm weather and many friends. In 2013, she moved back to Ohio and resided at Grand Court Independent Living where she was able to enjoy her screened porch, beloved dog, Beau Jangles, and the friendly staff. She also stayed at Trinity Community several times and received wonderful care from the staff. Velma will be most remembered for her poetry, jokes, and feisty personality. A gathering and memorial service will be held at Christian Life Center 3489 Little York Road Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 am.
