Velma Jean Begley, 78, of Dayton, passed away on November 19, 2019 at Stone Springs of Vandalia.
She was born on February 14, 1941 to the late Harold and Louise (Hamilton) Workman in Newhall, WV.
Velma retired as an Assembly Worker at General Motors.
On October 19, 1962 she married Michael Mercuri. They were together 24 years until he passed.
On May 11, 1991 she married Martin "Russ" Begley. They were together until he passed in 2004.
Velma enjoyed bingo in her free time. She had many friends in Daytona Beach, FL and Middlesboro, KY. Her family was more important to her than anything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st Husband, Michael Mercuri; 2nd Husband, Martin "Russ" Begley; Brothers, Bobby and Terry Workman; and Best Friend, Virginia "Ginny" Neff.
Velma is survived by her loving Daughters, Candy (Tim) Smyer and Andrea (Jerry) Leslie; Grandchildren, Justin (Joe) Smyer and Craig (April) Smyer; Siblings, Harold (Darlene) Workman, Johnny (Joni) Workman, and Brenda (Jim) Rosser; Special Friends, Gregg Davis in FL and Phyllis Belcher in KY; and many other loving Family and Friends.
