Vance Alfred Hart, age 87 of Silver Spring, MD, Naples, FL, formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Naples. He was born July 2, 1929 in Cottage Grove, TN to the late Vance and Alva Hart. U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War 101st Airborne.
He loved his life and he was grateful to be surrounded by the love from all who knew him. He was proud that he taught all of his grandchildren to fish on the lake where he lived in Indianapolis before he moved away. His unfinished business lay ahead as he continued to teach all who were interested in playing golf, his favorite pastime.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bette, stepson, Andy Edds and siblings, Lon, Linda and Michael.
Vance is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jeannie; daughter, Connie (Eric) Swift; son, Scott Hart; stepchildren, Beth (Peter) Kougasian, John (Nicole) Edds and Ami Susan (Michael) Petrucelli; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Janice (Herman) Jackson and Wayne (Patty) Hart of Paris, TN and Nell (Don) Lewis, Alexandria, VA, many nieces and nephews and many many friends.
Family will receive friends Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12pm until the time of the funeral service at 1pm in the mausoleum at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409. Entombment to follow.
