Valerie J. Schwind, 63, of Dayton, passed away May 19, 2020. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 25, 1956, the daughter of the late Harlan and Martha (Shepherd) Hamby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Curtis Leffler; sister, Cathy Hamby; and brother in law, Mike Shotts.
Valerie is survived by her son; Jeremy Allen; grandchildren; Derrick Allen and Bentlee Allen; sisters, Janrose (Randall) Hill and Vicky Shotts; and nephew, Rick Wahl.
In her free time, she loved to draw and was an avid reader.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Graveside service will follow at Dayton Memorial Park at 2pm.
