Val P. Hattemer, 87, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton.
Val spent over 50 years living and working in Dayton, indulging his interests in history and World War II airplanes, playing in numerous community and amateur bands, and building lifelong friendships with many people. He leaves a legacy of love and passion for music that touched and inspired many people of all ages. He loved his life in Dayton and filled it with good friends, good food, and lots of humor.
Val will be deeply missed but his spirit will live on through his surviving family: daughters, Lisa Hattemer Thompson and husband, Ken; Jill Hattemer and husband Mark Misiorowski; and Holly Hattemer-Frey and husband, Jonathan Frey; as well as his grandchildren Sarah Creekmore and husband JP and Emily and Matthew Misiorowski.
His son, Mitchell Hattemer of Homestead, FL, preceded him in death on July 20, 2014. Val was also preceded in death by his former wife, Gayle Hattemer of Coral Gables FL.
