U.W. Carlton Jr.

U. W. Carlton Jr., age 64, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2022. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 15, 1958 to Gwendolyn and U.W. Carlton Sr.

He loved his church and his God. He taught a bible study at his church, the Apostolic Light House Church of Dayton. He was very social and never met a stranger. He often was a mentor to those that knew him. He was very giving and would do anything to help others in need. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. His charismatic and kind nature, and his love for his family will be truly missed.

U.W. was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyn and U.W. Carlton Sr.

He will be remembered by his children: Tiffany L. Carlton, Julius A. Carlton, Brandon D. Carlton, and Michael A. Carlton; friend and mother of his children, LaDeedra Carlton; siblings: Kathy A. (Jerry) Lyons, Rhonda S. (Michael) Buie, Gwendolyn D. Haynes, Holt L. (Juanita) Carlton, and Jack U. Carlton; nieces and nephews: Kensey Grier, Jerry Lyons Jr., Andrew Lyons, Francesca Lyons, Michael (Pamela) Buie Jr., Yolanda (DeVine) Bey, Genea Buie, Antonnia Buie, Adrianna (Terence) Connally, Eboni Carlton, Nigel Carlton, Janae Sayler, and Serenity Carlton; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins, extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Apostolic Light House Church, 2221 Harshman Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30pm. He will be laid to rest at West Memory Gardens at 10:30am on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
