Uriel Bernard Watson

WATSON, Uriel Bernard "Barney," age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie; sister, Iris, and brother, Buddy.

Barney is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Laura; brothers, William "Buck" and wife, Jean and Howard and wife, Gerry; children, Patricia and husband, Russ and Michael and wife, Claudia; grandchildren, Tracy and husband, Marc, Laura and husband, Sam, Christiana and husband, Chad, Graham, Shannon, Sheila, and Sharlotte; great grandchildren, Krista, Katie, Eli, Ashley, Shelby, Brian, Aaron, and Adam, as well as extended family in Arkansas.

He was a longtime volunteer at SICSA. Barney was also a 32nd degree Mason and Scottish Rite. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and lifetime member of VFW Post 3438. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
