Truman L. Hembree
Age 82, Northridge, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton.
Truman was born August 8, 1923 in Caryville, TN to Columbus & Gracie (Prater) Hembree who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Betty J. (Young) Hembree, who died in 1998; and by his siblings, Edith Letner, Lonzo Hembree, Christina Harrison, Leonard Hembree, and Jimmy Hembree.
Truman is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela & John Engle of Beavercreek; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Vanessa and Ian Matthew; siblings, Hazel Settlemire of Toledo, Mary Lou Rogalski, Marie Daugherty, Betty Hill, all of Michigan, Margie Hicks of Dayton, Earl Hembree of LaFollette, Tennessee, Barbara Daugherty of Orlando, Florida and Billy Lasley of Chicago, Illinois.
Truman was a member of the Northridge Freewill Baptist church. He retired in 1988 from the Inland Division of General Motors with 35 years of service. During WW II he served in the U. S. Army.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 26, at the Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Ave., Dayton. Pastor Tim Hamilton will officiate. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Sunday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that contributions be made in memory of Truman to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
