But Still, Like Air, I Rise from Earthly Life to Eternal Life, July 7, 2021, ~ 7:47pm CST in
Champlin Minnesota, Trina Marie Lewis of Dayton, Ohio peacefully passed away at the age of 62
years old. Trina was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 11, 1958, to Edwin Franklin Lewis Jr.
and Rita Mae (Anderson) Ellicott. She graduated from Montgomery County Board of Disabilities
Southview School with Diplomacy and received Achievement Awards of Disability by the State
of Ohio and the State of Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Edwin F. Lewis Jr. Her loving (Maternal) Grandmother
Eunice Anderson, Grandfather Wilbert Anderson Sr., Uncle Wilbert Anderson Jr., Aunt Merlyn
Thibodeaux, Cousin Mary Catherine Thibodeaux, Great Aunt Eula Mae Anderson, Great Aunt
Barbara Goff. (Paternal) Grandmother Helen Lewis, Grandfather Edwin F. Lewis Sr., Aunt Cornell
McGee, Aunt Joan Webb, Cousins Steven Webb and Danny Castillo.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her Mother Rita M. Ellicott and Stepfather Maurice L. Ellicott
of Dayton, OH, (Sisters) – Gwen Theresa Lewis of Chicago, IL, Rhonda Lewis of Dayton, OH,
Linda Ann Lewis of Dayton OH, Desiree Delgado of Dallas, TX, (Half-sister) Victoria (Bobby)
Jordan of Dayton, OH, (Stepsister) Sherri Lynn Whitaker of Dayton, OH, (Brothers) Edwin F.
Lewis III of Dayton, OH, Bruce Anthony Lewis Sr. of Dayton, OH and (Stepbrother) Terry Lewis
of Dayton, OH.
Trina has 18 nephews, 8 nieces, 17 great nephews and 15 great nieces whom she called all of them
her favorites. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Extended Family and Friends.
Trina worked for Rise Community Services for 31 years receiving many accomplishments and
awards. She was an active Bowler on a league for disabilities with the Kozaks Roadrunners 1989
– 2016. She won over 58 competition trophies, awards and medals. She was on the Special
Olympics Team in bowling for seven years and placed 2nd place. She enjoyed winter hiking,
camping, canoeing, miniature golfing, riding horses, sleighing during the winter season, going to
Mall of America in Minnesota, seeing butterflies and to the Annual County Fairs. She loved going
to Dinner Theaters, Snow White, Alice and Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast and
volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. Trina's main attraction was visiting the Minnesota
Magical Butterfly House where she would see thousands of butterflies. She said butterflies are
peaceful and she likes peace. She loved singing especially At Last and Until We Meet Again.
Her favorite country singer was Alan Jackson and she enjoyed listening to For the Good Times.
She loved dancing and was an active member of the Minnesota Red Line Dancers for disabilities.
Her hobbies including crocheting potholders and drawing. Trina loved cheering for her favorite
football team the Minnesota Vikings and yellow was her favorite color. She has travelled to
Canada, Florida, New York and to Washington D.C. to see the White House, Lincoln Memorial,
Martin Luther King Jr. Monument, along with many other attractions and the Africa American
Wax Museum in Baltimore, MD. She loved traveling visiting families either to Evanston/Chicago,
IL, Dayton, OH, Dallas, TX Bowie/Largo, MD, Columbus, OH, Wheeling, WV, and/or
Thibodaux/New Orleans, LA.
