July 3, 1988 — February 13, 2019

BRIDDELL, Trenton James "TJ", 30, of Riverside, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019. Trenton was born on July 3rd, 1988 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

He was the son of Eric Trent Briddell and Polly Anna (Long) Smith. Trenton was preceded in death by his grandparents Robin (Red) Morris, Larry L. and Carol Long, and Ronald and Joyce Briddell, his aunt Laura Kay (Long) Riley, his uncles Steven and Jeffrey S. Briddell, and his step-brother Jeremy Lee Rockhold. Trenton is survived by his parents, step-father Timothy L. Smith, step-mother Mindy Briddell, grandmother Mary Ann Morris, sister Megan E. Briddell, step-sisters Jennifer L. (Kenneth Castle) Rockhold and Megan K. (Simon Tillaart) Smith, step-brother David W. Rockhold, nephew Cameron J.C. Pencil, nieces Summer A.G. and Sopheya A.M. Long, aunt Janet Briddell, and cousins Tara (Sarah Marshall) Robertson, Lane (Matt Troehler) Robertson, Brandi, Andrew, and Abigail Briddell, Bryana Vavra, Kale Dwyer, Krue, Lyla, and Kaye Troehler, lots of Canadian family, and many friends. Trenton never had any biological children, but he helped raise Emily Elizabeth Green as her surrogate father for the majority of her life, and he always considered her his "baby girl."

Trenton floundered a bit when he got out of school, so a good friend, Jesse Helms, urged him to join the Army National Guard. He enlisted on August 17th, 2010. He was assigned to Battery B 1-134TH Field Artillery Regiment in Piqua, Ohio, and after completing his basic training he was a Cannon Crewmember. Shortly after, he was deployed to Afghanistan, where he served during Operation Enduring Freedom as part of the Security Forces in Shindand. There he completed one tour of duty. He returned home on September 15th, 2012. He completed his military career as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on August 18th, 2016. Although no longer a member of his regiment, he never gave up the love he had for his brothers in arms. He will be waiting for them on the Fiddler's Green.
