Towner Wesley Smith, 85 of Tipp City, joined his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2015. Towner was born November 5, 1929 in Auburn, WV, the youngest of five children of James Wesley and Beulah (Towner) Smith. Along with his parents, Towner was preceded in death by two children, Steven Benjamin and Lisa Marie; brothers, and sister, James D. Smith, F. Harrell Smith, Jake Smith, and Doraine Wass.
Towner retired from Duriron Corp (Flowserve) as a chemical engineer after 37 years. He was a member of Destiny Church in Huber Heights, where he had served as an Elder, Deacon and teacher over many years. Towner was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War where he served with the military police.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Prouty) Smith; sons, Rev. Mark Wesley Smith (Mary Ann) of Hillsboro, OH and Rev. Eric Benjamin Smith (Juli) of Tipp City, OH; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Davis (Rev. David) of Tipp City; grandchildren, Justin Wesley Smith (Katrina), Joshua Taylor Smith (Susan), Jordan Towner Smith, David Adam Davis, Chloe Rose Spitzig (Kenneth), Ahnna Michaela Davis (Fiancé, Denny Spitzig), Isaac Christian Davis, Abraham Augustus Davis, Madison Taylor Smith, Isaiah Benjamin Smith and Maggie Claire Smith; great-grandchildren, Towner, Emma and Lilia; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 followed by a service celebrating Towner's life at 12 noon at Destiny Church, 4691 Bufort Blvd., Huber Heights, OH. Burial in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton, OH.
