Tonia Denise Christian

Tonia Denise (Freshour) Christian, also known as Toni, gained her angel wings after a courageous fight with cancer, May 25, 2020 in Dayton, Ohio at home with loved ones by her side. Tonia was born July 9, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio to Donald Max Freshour and Wilma Katherine (Robinson) Freshour.

She was 60 years, 10 months and 16 days old. Tonia was married to the love of her life of 20 years, Carl. They had been through good times and tough times but together they made it through. Tonia always said, "If I did anything right it was my 2 kids and 2nd marriage". Tonia had a smile big enough to light up any room with a contagious laugh to compliment it. She welcomed everyone in her home, with a hot meal & glass of sweet tea. She had a warm heart and kind soul. She was funny, crazy, sassy and loved to help others. She looked forward to family reunions and being surrounded by family and friends. She was great at aggravating her grandkids & many nieces and nephews. Everyone has an Aunt Toni story. Being one of the younger siblings, out of 16, it was only natural she had a wonderful group of role models to help mold her into an amazing mom and caretaker. This role was one Tonia lived for. Including being a nurses aide for 20+ years in Booneville, Ark & Dayton, Oh. Tonia's girls were her world. She devoted her life to taking care of them. Once she became a mamaw, her heart could only love that much more. The grandchildren made her light up just to see their beautiful faces. The hugs were the icing on the cake. Everyday was for Tonia's family. She loved being a wife, mom, mamaw, sister and aunt. She cherished the many memories made with each one.

Tonia leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband Carl Christian, her daughters: Tamara (Malachi)Hicks, Luci(Steephan)Perry & Special daughter Jessica (Justin)Boggs all of Dayton, Ohio. Mamaw will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Mone't Hicks, Tia Hicks, Kaleb Perry and Dalton Perry. Tonia is also survived by her siblings: Judy(Tommy) Madewell, Pam(Bill) Hobbs, Melinda(Al) Vaughn, Rhonda Hickman, Andrea (John) Hearn, Jona (Roy) Peters and Donna(Steve) Couch & the "adopted" kids who called her mom or mamaw. Tonia will be missed by everyone that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted including a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones dear to her heart.

Tonia was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Wilma Freshour and her siblings: Keith, Jimmy, Donnie, Hook, Sherry, Becky, Debbie, and Kathy.
