Tom Kirchmer

Kirchmer, Tom, age 96, of Centerville, passed away August 22, 2017.

He proudly served 4 years in the US Navy during WWII. He was very dedicated to his faith and family. Tom had a beautiful tenor singing voice and was very involved in the church choir. He was creative and enjoyed decorating for every season. Tom enjoyed gardening, camping, family trips, and fishing. Quick witted, with a good sense of humor, Tom was also very generous with his time and helpfulness towards others.

Tom was preceded in death by two daughters, Lisa and Julie, siblings, Mary, Jane, Joe, and Dick. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty (Schaefer) Kirchmer; six children, Selene (Frank) Reedy, Jeff (Connie) Kirchmer, Leslie (Rick) Iannarino, Brian (Christie) Kirchmer, Tim (Lynn) Kirchmer, Mark (Ann) Kirchmer; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am until 11:00am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Leonard Senior Community 8100 Clyo Rd. Centerville, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 in Tom's memory. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, South Chapel.
