Tivis K. Barton

BARTON, Jr., Tivis K., age 72, was born July 12, 1936 and went to be with the Lord January 23, 2009. He was born to Maxie and Kermit Barton. Preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline - born to this union, children, Phyllis (Greg) Moore, Carolyn (Corky) Compton, and Debra (Jeff) McWain, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, also survived by brothers, Sam (Vickie) Barton and Arlie Barton. He married Ann, May 31, 1995 – then our family included, Michael, Kelley, and James, plus grandchildren and great grandchildren. Junior was a member of the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church for over 35 years and was ordained as an elder on October 21, 1978. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Son-in-law, Elder Greg Moore will officiate services. Final resting place will be at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Hospice of Dayton for all their kindness and compassion.
