Tina M. Lewis (Auvil), 59, of Kettering, passed away suddenly July 31 at home. Tina was born on January 28, 1960 in Middletown, Ohio, to Carolyn (Robinson) Auvil and Jack Lee Auvil.
She battled a prolonged illness this past year and was finally able to return home in April. She was so happy to be healthy enough to once again attend church and continue her Deaconess duties at Patterson Park Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Tina was a 1978 graduate of Northmont High School and was a member of the Marching and Concert Bands. She graduated from Sinclair Community College in 1982 with an Associate's Degree in Interpreter Education. She worked for many years as an interpreter for the deaf at Greenville and Russia Public Schools and Sinclair Community College.
In addition to her skills as a talented interpreter and her natural affinity for playing musical instruments, she loved playing cards and games of all kinds, bowling with her husband and sons, and going to musical shows and movies with her mom. She was an avid fan of the Dayton Flyers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.
She loved her devoted husband of 29 years, David Lewis, and her sons, Joshua Auvil (Rory) and Christopher Lewis. She was so proud of her granddaughter, Gabrielle Auvil, and brand new grandson, Roman Maximus Auvil. Tina was very close to her mother whom she helped with doctor appointments and other errands for many years. Her siblings, Eddie Auvil (Betty), Sue Gehrt (Alan), John Auvil (Lisa), Robert Auvil, and her 6 nieces will miss her laughter and fun, outgoing personality. She was preceded in death by her father in 1985.
Tina will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially her dear friends, Jacqui LaForce and Susan Glisson, and her Euchre buddies at Lohrey Recreation Center. With Tina and all the saints, we eagerly anticipate Christ's return in glory and the resurrection where we will be reunited. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!
Visitation will be held Monday, August 5, 2019, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Patterson Park Church (3655 E Patterson Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45430).
Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Joe Godwin, officiating.
