Timothy Alan Stahl, 72, of Fairborn, passed away on February 10, 2024. He was born April 2, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Robert and Sue Stahl.
Above all, Tim cherished his family and friends. He understood the world was flawed but he never let a beautiful moment slip by unappreciated; he encouraged others to appreciate those moments. A doting father, Tim thought the world of his children, and he would tell anyone who would listen how proud he was. And a rock-solid friend, he rejoiced in sharing stories of his '69er classmates.
Tim was also a tenacious Ohio sports fan - especially the Buckeyes. He was a walking sports encyclopedia and loved long calls with friends. A natural storyteller, you could bet that in between sports analysis, he would gladly tell a tale of the "good old days." Tim also enjoyed the arts, and many had the privilege of receiving an original Tim Stahl poem, scribbled on the back of a receipt or scratch paper. Music was no exception, showcased by his collection of mixed tapes and records.
Tim had a special ability to connect and see the good in others. He bolstered his friendships through nicknames and handshakes. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them; he rooted for them as hard as any sports team - and if you knew him, you knew it.
Tim is survived by his children, Travis Stahl and Miranda (Travis) Ballman; grandchild, Olivia Ballman; siblings, Joe (Marci) Stahl and Ted (Debbie) Stahl; and a host of many other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Tim will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Dayton Food Bank
