Timothy Dennis Hoel

Timothy “Dennis” Hoel, age 68 of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born November 30, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of William "Bill" and Betty Hoel.

 Dennis graduated from Belmont High School in 1974, where he played Varsity basketball. He enjoyed being outside, planting flowers, working in his yard and fishing with his grandkids. He loved to follow Ohio State, Bengals and UD basketball and football. More than anything, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his joy of life. He always put others before himself and made sure to spoil his wife. He and Becky enjoyed their mini vacations to Amish Country and Hocking Hills.

 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and John Hoel; step daughter, Victoria "Vicky" Smith; special brother-in-law, Doug Grisso and many other family members.

 Dennis is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rebecca "Becky"; son, Derrick Hoel; step daughters, Cindy (Seth) Davidson and Vivian (Dan) Elmeier; grandchildren, Johanna, Evan, and Levi Davidson; Eli and Bryce Elmeier; siblings, Bonnie Grisso, Marie Lawrence, Jim (Debbie) Hoel, Danny Hoel and Eddie (Linda) Hoel; sisters-in-law, Debby Hartpence, Mickey Sweet and Cheryl (Lynn) Shepperd; brothers-in-law, Greg (Anita) Riley and Jeff (Spring) Riley; many nieces and nephews and other loving family members.

 A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Centerville Christian Fellowship (700 Spring Valley Pike, Centerville, Ohio 45458).  The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 5:00pm with service immediately following.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Jabez (https://www.campjabez.org), a ministry focused on bringing a positive interaction between children and their families using horses and the outdoors, all of which Dennis loved.
