Timothy Gardner

GARDNER, Timothy, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his home. He is preceded in death by his father, John Gardner. Tim is survived by his mother, Martha Gardner; children, Benjamin (Amy) Gardner, Gabe Gardner, Sara Gardner, and brother, John (Marianne) Gardner. He was a social worker who was actively involved in the Dayton area, with coordinating food distribution to local food pantries and soup kitchens. He started a food program that provided children in need with backpacks of food for the weekend and was a board member at DATV. Tim was a lifelong Dayton resident and loved the Dayton Dragons and Cincinnati Reds. He also loved to take out his sailboat. Tim recently won the Social Worker of the Year Award from Wright State University. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 101 Huffman Ave., Dayton.
