On April 9, 2022, Timothy "Tim" Saterfield Blanton, age 70, died peacefully in his home following a long illness.
Tim was born on April 26, 1951 in Steubenville, Ohio. He attended Jefferson Union High School, where he played baseball, football, and was a member of the high school chorus. In his younger years, Tim played softball for the Toronto American Legion, earning the nickname "Dr. Dirt". He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Tim greatly loved and was proud of his daughters and grandchildren.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan (Baker) Blanton; his children, Tammy (Scott) Webb and Tabitha (Thomas) Fergison; grandchildren Jacob Webb, Olivia Fergison, and Brooklyn Fergison; step-granddaughter Brittany (Matthew) Sprada; brother Robert Blanton; sister-in-law Elaine Blanton, nephews Bryan (Brandi) Blanton, Micah (Rebecca) Blanton; niece Tracy (Brian) Hargis; brothers-in-law Mark (Dawna McCabe) Baker and John Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit "Beecher" and Reba (Robison) Blanton, his brother George Blanton, sister-in-law Carolyn Snider, and his nephew Mark Baker, Jr.
Visitation and viewing for Tim is scheduled for Friday April 15th from 5pm-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio. There will be a service immediately following visitation at 6pm.
The family would like to thank the nurses, social workers, chaplain, and staff of Ohio's Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care of Tim.
