Timothy D. Alan (Ketzel), age 65 of Dayton, OH passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was born April 2, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio, to Helen Ketzel and Paul Lessis.
Tim was a 1974 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School and received both his bachelors and masters degrees from Wright State University in Education. Teaching was his passion and he enjoyed the interaction with children. He began his teaching career at St. Albert the Great Catholic School in Kettering OH. He taught in the Huber Heights school district and for the past 9 years was an elementary teacher and reading specialist for Dayton Public Schools. He also tutored at risk students after school. He was recognized for his excellence in teaching. He enjoyed singing and had been a member of the Dayton Gay Men's Chorus and the choir at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes, especially non-traditional cookies.
Tim is survived by his brother, John E. Ketzel; two sisters, Wanda Boehm, and Judy Brady; lifelong friends, Sandy Hedge and Louie Lala; and fellow teacher and good friend Becki Schwab. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Ketzel and father, Paul Lessis.
A private service has been held at the convenience of the family.
