Thomas "Tom" Koenig, age 60, a lifelong resident of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away July 11, 2021 after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Tom worked as an engineer at AK Steel for many years. He was an avid and lifelong UD Flyers, Cincinnati Reds, and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Tom also enjoyed playing golf, coaching his children's sports teams, watching his son play football, and traveling with his wife and family. He was loved by many friends and will be remembered every time someone throws a golf club after a bad shot.
Tom was the loving and dedicated husband of Tara Koenig for 36 years, the doting father of Maura Koenig, Hannah (Mike) McDaniel and Noah Koenig, caring brother of Bill (Elaine) Koenig and Paul (Mandy) Koenig, grandfather to Fiona and Michael McDaniel and dogs Early, Domino and Fred, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard "Dick" and Mary Lou "Mae" Koenig.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432).
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Ascension Catholic Church (2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering, OH 45420). Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
