Thomas Yates Mayfield, Jr.

Thomas Yates Mayfield, Jr., age 73, of Dayton, passed away September 26, 2023. He was born September 22, 1950 in Danville, KY. Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Yates Mayfield, Sr. and Bernice Richardson; and niece, DeAmber Snow.

Tom is survived by his sisters: Christine Hyland and Teresa Mallory; nieces and nephew: Donikea (Jerry) Sanders, Kevin Michael Self and Lakeysha Hicks; brother-in-law, John Hicks; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tom loved listening to country music. He enjoyed playing with his sister as a young child. He attended many workshops and loved playing the tambourine there. His favorite treat was a cookie - you could get Tom to do anything for a cookie.

The family would like to extend a special thank Thomas' case manager, Clarence, to the group home where Thomas resided, and to Newcomer Funeral Home.
