MANTIA, Thomas D., age 88, of Dayton, passed away Wed., July 27, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by daughter Rosa Lee, his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Tom is survived by his wife Lucille, to whom he was married 67 years; his daughter Judy Mantia & close friend of the family Sharon Murray; his son Thomas Mantia & wife Phyllis; 1 sister Lena Hickey; 3 brothers Charles, Tony & wife Betty and Nicky Mantia & wife Pat; 9 grandchildren Rhonda (Mike), Ronnie (Patty), Rachelle, Robin (Sharon), Roberta (Brian), Tom, Lori (John), Andy (April) and Amy (Bob); 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was the owner/operator of Mantia's Wholesale Produce, a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy John Pirelli Council 1633. Tom was an avid bowler, card player and bocci player. Funeral services 10 A.M., Sat., July 30, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Rev. Fr. Jeff Fulmer officiating. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, if so desired, may be given to Hospice of Dayton or the Alzheimer's Assn. in Tom's memory.
