Thomas Lee Harris, Sr.
Age 60, of Dayton, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, after a hard fight with Melanoma.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Corbet L. "Blackie" Harris; and by one brother, John L. Harris.
Tom is survived by his wife of the past 19 years, Mary Jo (Etherington) Harris; his mother, Emma L. Harris; three children, Thomas L. Jr. (Teresa) Harris, Laura K. (Richard) Diehl & Paul T. (Bobbisue) Harris; two step-children, Rhonda (Dave) Hughes & James Smith; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Alicia, Emily, Nolan & Avery; three sisters, Donna J. (Phil) Lucas, Nancy J. (Terry) Salyer, Tammy J. (Jim) Wroblewski; three step-grandchildren, Shannon, Damon & Anthony; and by two special great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews & many good friends.
Tom was a member of Roofers Union Local # 75; a veteran of the U. S. Navy; and he was Manager of the Southern Belle. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley and he loved his dog, Petie.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kim and all those who helped Tom during his illness.
